Herschel Supply
The story of Herschel bags and backpacks starts in the early 1900’s in Wick, Scotland. Barrel maker Peter Alexander Cormack and his wife Annie moved from Wick across the Atlantic to Canada, at a time when the government was enticing families to immigrate through the homestead program. After travelling around for a couple of months, the couple settled in the small town of Herschel, whose population today is counted at 30 residents. In 2009, their great-grandchilds Jamie and Lyndon Cormack started to make bags backpacks and travel goods. They named the company Herschel Supply Co., after the town where three generations of their family used to live. Herschel is based in Vancouver, Canada. The inspiration for the backpacks comes from mountaineering, which the brothers used to do when they grew up. Herschel bags have a timeless and simple look, and have a fine regard for detail. In spite of this retro-look, the bags are made of modern and innovative materials.
