Lib Tech
Lib Tech snowboards sent us some very cool and innovative boards this season. Lib Tech boards are handcrafted near Canada in the USA for over 26 years, in the same factory as Gnu snowboards. This factory is one of the most environmentally conscious factories in the snowboard industry. It even has its own “environMENTAL” division. Lib Tech recycles all base materials and uses bio-plastics made of beans and water-based ink instead of petroleum and other toxic materials. The board designs from Lib Tech are revolutionary and have won many awards. One of their most famous inventions is Banana technology, a designs that completely changed a snowboard’s “pressure map”, with banana shaped rocker between your feet instead of tip to tail ski-camber. This makes the boards easier and more fun to ride. The first board with this technology, the Skate Banana, is one of the most popular snowboards of the last ten years. Team riders like Travis Rice, Mark Landvik and Jamie Lynn are convinced of this snowboard specific design. They only ride Banana and even designed their own pro model Bananas. Another great invention of Lib Tech is Magne-Traction: serrated edges like a breadknife for unreal edgehold. The graphics on Lib Tech’s boards are original and unique.
