In the 1960’s Eastpak was founded, under direction of Monte Goldman and developed duffel bags and bags for the army. In 1976 his son discovered that military students used the backpacks as schoolbags. He convinced is father to develop a whole new line of schoolbags, open for public customers. Not too long after this Eastpak was granted a cult status within alternative students. Eastpak was one of the first to use Cordura fabrics, what made the bags, stronger and more durable. Which contributed to a better prise/quality rate. They were also the first to experiment with colour and prints, what made their bags, fun, fresh, young, colourful and fashionable. Eastpak is proud of their ‘Built to Resist’ philosophy and therefore offers a 30 year guarantee to all of their standard bangs, such as the Padded Pack’r.
